My trip so far:
I arrive at the airport at 11 for a 1250 flight, breeze through security and am waiting at my gate with plenty of time to spare.
The plane, which is due to board at 1220, arrives at 1235. Ok, we can still get out of here on time.
We are told they are waiting to switch over the flight crew.
We are then told there is a small, easily fixable maintenance issue.
It turns out to be a sticker that the plane is missing. Yeah, a sticker.
1 hour later we board.
We are kept on the runway for 25 min.
On our decent into Philly we are told to circle for 20 minutes.
I hit the ground with 10 minutes to get from one side of the airport to the other.
I run up to the gate, the plane is sitting there, and then am told I can’t board because “the plane is gone.” “That plane right there? The one I can see?” Yeah… His shitty attitude about the whole thing and my lack of being able to punch him in the throat really improved my mood.
I am sent to customer service and booked on the next flight.
That flight is canceled before I even get to the new gate due to “air traffic”.
I spend 45 minutes in line to get put on standby for the 8 o’clock flight. It is currently 5 pm.
If I don’t make it on that flight I spend the night here and try to fly out in the AM.
Thesis Statement? Fuck US Airways.

US Airways almost always sucks. The problem is they an expensive airline trying to run like a cheap one. If you get bounced tonight, you should call Customer Service and say you got bounced from your flight even the plane was still at the gate and that you want to file a compliant. That might get you a free something.
In the meanwhile, I’ll ask my friend about the travel blog/chats her late husband was on. They offer all sorts of great tricks to get more miles, better service, and avoiding BS.
Don’t punch anyone (no matter how well-deserved.) Jail doesn’t have wifi.
